The Santorini
Artist Residency.
Fourteen days on a volcanic island shaped by 3,600 years of artistic history. Ancient pigments, loulaki blue, volcanic earth, extraordinary light, local pottery masters, and a caldera that has inspired artists since the Bronze Age.

7-day programme
- Day 1 — Arrival & orientation — island walk at dusk, introduction to the caldera and the geology, welcome dinner with the group
- Day 2 — Pigment & colour — volcanic pigment foraging on the cliff faces, loulaki blue workshop, binding with olive oil, making your own island paints; free studio afternoon
- Day 3 — Ancient colour — guided visit to Akrotiri excavation site and the Museum of Prehistoric Thera; fresco studies, ancient pigment discussion; evening free studio
- Day 4 — The volcano — full-day private catamaran to Nea Kameni, material collecting at the crater, hot springs, sea caves; live music evening at a local taverna
- Day 5 — Craft & landscape — sunrise kayaking along the Akrotiri cliffs; pottery workshop with a local Santorinian ceramicist; plein air drawing session at the caldera rim
- Day 6 — Food, wine & work — wine tasting at a local Santorinian estate; cooking experience with traditional island ingredients; free studio session in the afternoon
- Day 7 — Final work & farewell — morning free studio; each artist presents one work to the group; farewell dinner; departure the following morning

Key details
Accommodation in Santorini for 7 nights in May or September costs approximately €560–€910 independently (€80–130/night). We provide a curated guide to the right villages — Imerovigli, Pyrgos, or Megalochori — with pre-negotiated rates where available.
All prices exclude flights. First cohort: May 2026 · 14-day cohorts limited to 8 artists · 7-day cohorts limited to 10 artists.

The Studio
A working space
built for serious
creative work.
The studio is a shared working space available to all residency artists throughout the 14 days. It is designed to support both structured workshops and free practice — with natural light, outdoor terrace access, and a dedicated volcanic pigment bench.

Art before identity
The work should always enter the room before the artist does. We create the conditions for that to happen — every submission, every curation, every collection.

Anonymity is a right, not a gimmick
We don’t use anonymity as a marketing device. We treat it as a genuine structural principle — one that changes how art is received, valued, and remembered.

The reveal belongs to the artist
We never push, pressure, or reveal without consent. Identity — once given — cannot be taken back. That power stays with the artist, always.

Accessibility without compromise
Anonymous Artist is open to all levels, all mediums, all countries. The only filter is the quality of the work — judged by people who don’t know who made it.

Tell us about your work
We ask about your practice, what you’re currently making, and what you’d use the time for. No CV required. No exhibition history necessary.

Anonymous review
All applications are reviewed without names. The selection panel sees your work description, your intentions, and up to five images — nothing else.

We reach out
If selected, we’ll email you within 4 weeks. We’ll discuss logistics, dates, and any particular needs you have. We never share your identity publicly without your consent.

You arrive and make work
That’s it. No deliverables, no critique, no documentation requirements. We ask only that you share a few honest words about the experience at the end — anonymously, if you prefer.
