About Project
Anonymous Artist
Project Anonymous Artist is an online platform for the anonymous sale and exhibition of original artwork. Artists submit work under
total anonymity — no name, no biography, no social media history — and collectors buy work purely on the basis of what they can
see. The artist chooses when, or whether, to reveal their identity: immediately, after six months, or never.
The platform operates a permanent online collection available year-round, four curated seasonal exhibitions, and an annual art
residency programme based in Santorini, Greece. Artists keep 85% of every sale — among the highest artist share offered by any
online art platform. The platform also operates the PAA Artists Hub, a free community resource offering connections to industry
professionals, legal guidance, and peer support for artists at every career stage.
Project Anonymous Artist was founded on the belief that art should be seen and judged entirely on its own terms — without the
weight, or the privilege, of a name attached.
Short version (under 50 words)
Project Anonymous Artist is an online platform where artists submit and sell work under total anonymity. No names. No biographies. Collectors buy purely on what they see. Artists keep 85% of every
sale. The reveal — if it comes — is on the artist’s terms, in the artist’s time.

What makes PAA worth writing about
01
The economics of anonymity
Does work sell for more or less when the artist is unknown? What does removing a biography do to perceived value? PAA has real data from actual anonymous sales to explore this question.
02
The reveal as a narrative moment
When an artist chooses to reveal, it becomes a story — for the artist, the collector, and the platform. We can facilitate anonymous or attributed artist interviews around the reveal experience.
03
Lowest commission in the industry
At 15% vs the industry average of 40–50%, PAA’s model challenges how art platforms extract value from artists. A legitimate business angle on art market economics.
04
The Santorini residency
Volcanic pigments, ancient frescoes, loulaki blue, local potters, and a caldera that has inspired artists for 3,600 years. A feature-ready travel and arts story with real programme substance.
05
The collector’s perspective
What is it like to buy a piece of art and not know who made it? How does the reveal change the relationship to the work? We can connect journalists with collectors willing to speak.
06
Art in the age of personal brand
When Instagram followings influence gallery representation and sales, PAA deliberately reverses the logic. A cultural story about what it means to let work stand alone in 2025.
